SIP calculator
A SIP calculator estimates what a fixed monthly mutual fund investment could grow to at the annual return you assume. Enter the instalment, years and expected return to see invested amount, estimated gains and maturity value.
Default result
A ₹10,000/month SIP for 15 years at 12% could grow to about ₹47.59 L, of which ₹29.59 L is estimated growth.

How to use this calculator
- Enter the monthly SIP amount you can invest without stretching cash flow.
- Choose years and an expected annual return that matches the fund type.
- Read maturity, the year-wise table, and use the inflation toggle to see today’s purchasing power of that corpus.
Formula and worked example
Each instalment is treated as invested at the start of the month, and the monthly rate is the effective equivalent of the annual return you enter — the same basis Groww’s SIP calculator uses. The exact formula and a worked example are below.
The exact formula
FV = P × [ ((1+i)ⁿ − 1) ÷ i ] × (1 + i) P = monthly amount i = (1 + annual return)^(1/12) − 1 n = years × 12 The trailing (1 + i) treats each instalment as invested at the start of the month. i is the effective monthly rate so twelve months compound back to the annual return.
Worked example. ₹10,000/mo · 15 years · 12% → ₹47,59,314. Matches Groww to the rupee.

Assumptions and limits
- Annuity-due (start-of-month investment); effective monthly compounding (Groww convention).
- Return constant; gross of fund expenses, exit load and tax.
- Return is an assumption you enter, not a forecast.
- Figures are gross of expense ratio, exit load and capital-gains tax.
- Instalments use annuity-due timing with an effective monthly rate.
- Inflation toggle changes purchasing-power display only, not the nominal maturity.

SIP return calculator
A SIP return calculator answers one practical question: if you keep investing the same amount every month, what corpus do you finish with at the rate you assume? On the defaults above, ₹10,000 a month for 15 years at 12% compounds to about ₹47.59 lakh after investing ₹18.00 lakh. That gap between invested and maturity is the estimated gain at your rate—not a promise from any AMC. Use a lower return when the horizon is short or the fund is debt-heavy. Compare the year-wise table with your actual debit date before you raise the SIP.
Monthly SIP calculator
Salary-linked investing is almost always monthly, so a monthly SIP calculator matches how money leaves the bank account. Model the instalment you can sustain in a quiet month, not a bonus month. At ₹10,000 per month for 15 years and 12%, this page’s engine shows roughly ₹47.59 lakh. Annual bonuses belong as separate lumpsums; baking them into the monthly figure overstates what auto-debit can deliver. If cash flow is uneven, set the SIP lower and top up when surplus arrives rather than bouncing mandates.
Mutual fund SIP calculator
Mutual fund SIP maths differs from bank RD maths: you choose an expected market return instead of a fixed card rate. Equity-oriented funds often use a higher assumption than hybrid or debt funds, and the risk sits with you. The worked defaults here—₹10,000 monthly, 15 years, 12%—land near ₹47.59 lakh. That figure ignores expense ratios and capital-gains tax, so treat it as a planning ceiling. Pick the category first, then stress-test the same SIP at 10% and 8% before you lock a mandate.
SIP calculator with inflation
Nominal maturity looks flattering until you ask what the money will buy. Toggle inflation on this SIP calculator to express the corpus in today’s purchasing power. A ₹47.59 lakh finish after 15 years shrinks in real terms if prices rise 5–6% a year. Education and healthcare goals usually need a higher inflation input than headline CPI. Keep the nominal table for contribution planning and the inflation view for lifestyle conversations with family. After you accept the “SIP calculator with inflation” maths, update nominees and the bank mandate—process gaps undo an otherwise sound sip plan.
SIP calculator with step up
A flat SIP understates plans that rise with salary. This page keeps the instalment level; for yearly increases switch to the step-up SIP calculator. Example: the flat ₹10,000 / 15y / 12% case finishes near ₹47.59 lakh, while a 10% annual step-up from a smaller start often reaches a larger corpus with less early strain. Do not invent a step-up you cannot afford after rent and EMIs. Document the planned increase month in your annual review note. Recalculate the “SIP calculator with step up” path after a job change, new loan or family addition rather than relying on last year’s sip screenshot.

Frequently asked questions
Does this SIP calculator show real fund returns?
No. You type an assumed annual return. For historical scheme SIPs with live NAVs, use the fund-returns SIP tool linked from the tools hub.
Why is my answer different from Groww or another site?
Sites differ on monthly rate conversion, deposit timing and rounding. This page uses annuity-due timing with an effective monthly rate and documents the formula above.
Should I include expense ratio in the return box?
Most people enter an expected net return after expenses. If you enter a gross index-style number, remember the live fund will trail that figure.
What happens if I pause the SIP for a few months?
This model assumes unbroken instalments. Gaps reduce both invested capital and compounding; rerun with fewer years or a lower monthly amount to approximate a pause.
Is the inflation toggle changing my SIP amount?
No. It only reframes the maturity in today’s purchasing power. The debit amount and nominal corpus stay the same.
Can I model a step-up here?
Not on this page. Use the step-up SIP calculator when the instalment should rise every year.
Are capital gains deducted from the maturity figure?
No. Outputs are pre-tax. Equity and debt tax rules differ; confirm the regime in force when you redeem.
Can an advisor reuse these inputs?
Yes. Share the inputs and the result screenshot with an AMFI-registered distributor so they can map the maths to products without changing the formula.
