Term insurance in Pune, sized to your income and loans
Pure term life cover, sized to replace your income and clear your loans, and kept separate from your investments so each does one job well. Protection first, then invest.
For anyone with dependents, a home loan, or savings that a sudden loss of income would drain.
Life insurance has one job: to replace your income and clear your debts if you are no longer around to earn. It is not an investment, and bundling the two, as endowment and unit-linked plans do, usually leaves a family both underinsured and underinvested.
A pure term plan pays a large sum to your family if you die during the policy term and nothing if you outlive it. Because there is no savings element, the premium is a fraction of a bundled plan for the same cover. A 30-year-old non-smoker can often get ₹1 crore of cover for a few hundred rupees a month.
We calculate how much cover you actually need using the human life value approach: your income replaced for the years your family would depend on it, plus outstanding loans, minus what you have already saved. Then we compare insurers on the things that matter at claim time, the claim-settlement ratio and complaint data, not just the premium, and help you disclose your health and habits fully so the claim is not contested later.
Term cover is not the whole answer to every need. For a child’s education or a retirement income we plan those with investments, and only where it genuinely fits, a guaranteed-return or pension product chosen on the numbers rather than the brochure.

How we size and place a term plan
- 01
Income replacement: your annual income multiplied by the number of years your family would depend on it, discounted to today.
- 02
Add outstanding loans, especially the home loan, and any large future costs; subtract existing cover and liquid savings.
- 03
Set the policy term to run until your dependents are financially independent, typically to your late fifties or early sixties.
- 04
Compare insurers on claim-settlement ratio, amount-wise settlement and complaint volume, not premium alone.
- 05
Disclose health, family history and habits fully at the proposal stage, which is what keeps a claim from being contested.
Why term cover, and why now
The two most expensive mistakes with life insurance are buying the wrong kind and buying it too late.
Bundled plans underinsure you
An endowment or ULIP that costs ₹50,000 a year might carry ₹5 lakh of cover. A term plan for the same premium carries many times that. Protection and investing are different jobs.
Premiums rise with age and health
Term premiums are locked at the age you buy. Waiting five years, or until a health condition appears, can raise the cost sharply or make cover harder to get.
Employer cover is not enough
Group cover from your job is usually one to three times salary and ends the day you leave. A personal term plan stays with you and is sized to your family’s real need.
Full disclosure protects the claim
Most disputed claims trace back to something not disclosed when buying. Getting the proposal right, with our help, is what makes the payout reliable.
Who needs term cover
You are the main earner with dependents
A spouse, children or parents who rely on your income need it replaced if you are not there.
You have a home loan
Term cover at least equal to the outstanding loan keeps your family in the house rather than servicing an EMI.
You have young children
Cover that funds their education and upbringing to independence, on top of income replacement.
You hold an old endowment or ULIP
You want to know its real return and whether a term plan plus investments would serve you better.
How engagement works
When you invest or insure through us
We help you choose suitable products, complete KYC and paperwork, and review the arrangement with you on a yearly rhythm. Units and policies sit in your own name. Engagement details are discussed personally before you onboard.
When you want a written financial plan
Scope, deliverables and commercial terms for a written plan are agreed in a personal conversation before any planning work begins. Investing through us afterward remains a separate, clearly scoped step.

Questions people ask about life insurance
- How much term insurance do I need?
- A common starting point is 10 to 15 times your annual income, plus outstanding loans, minus existing savings and cover. We refine that with the human life value method based on your family’s actual expenses and goals.
- Should I buy a term plan or an endowment / ULIP?
- For protection, a pure term plan gives far more cover per rupee. Endowment and ULIP plans bundle a small, expensive investment with the insurance. We generally keep the two separate and review any policy you already hold.
- Until what age should the policy run?
- Until your dependents are financially independent and your major loans are cleared, usually your late fifties to mid sixties. Cover beyond that point often costs more than it is worth.
- I have cover through my employer. Is that enough?
- Usually not. Employer cover is typically one to three times salary and stops when you leave the job, exactly when a fresh policy may be harder to get. Treat it as a top-up, not your main cover.
- What makes a term claim more likely to be paid?
- Full, honest disclosure of health, family history and habits when you buy, and choosing an insurer with a consistently high claim-settlement ratio and low complaint volume. We help with both.
- Are term insurance premiums tax deductible?
- Premiums qualify for a deduction under Section 80C, and the payout to your nominee is exempt under Section 10(10D), subject to the conditions in force. Tax rules can change, so confirm the current position when you buy.
- Can I increase my cover later?
- Some plans allow it at life stages like marriage or a child’s birth without fresh medicals. Otherwise you buy an additional policy. It is usually cheaper to buy adequate cover now than to add later.
- What if I smoke or have a health condition?
- Declare it. Premiums will be higher and some conditions carry a loading or exclusion, but an honestly rated policy pays reliably. A cheaper policy bought on a false declaration may not.
