How to use this calculator
- Enter today’s wedding budget.
- Set years remaining, cost inflation and expected return.
- Read future cost and the SIP or lumpsum required.
Formula and worked example
Future cost = today’s budget × (1 + inflation)^years. The SIP is the stepped-up instalment whose future value meets that cost; the lumpsum is its present value at the expected return.
The exact formula
Future cost: C = today’s budget × (1 + cost inflation)^Y Monthly SIP: C ÷ FV(a ₹1 step-up SIP over Y years at the expected return) Lumpsum: C ÷ (1 + r)^Y
Worked example. ₹25 L budget today · 18 years · 7% inflation · 12% return · 10% step-up → future cost ₹84.50 L, SIP ₹6,215/mo, or ₹10.99 L as a lumpsum today.

Assumptions and limits
- Cost inflation default 7%.
- Return constant; the SIP steps up each year.
- Projects a wedding budget only; unrelated to the legal meaning of child marriage.
- Cost inflation and expected return are planning inputs you choose.
- Does not include jewellery loans or credit-card EMIs taken at the event.

Marriage planning calculator
Wedding budgets inflate with venue, gold and guest lists. A ₹25 lakh celebration today becomes about ₹84.50 lakh in 18 years at 7% cost inflation in the defaults. The stepped SIP to fund it is near ₹6,215 at a 12% return assumption. Agree the guest-list philosophy early—maths cannot fix an open-ended social competition. Keep the corpus labelled so it is not spent on a car mid-way. Revisit the plan when venue norms in your city change, because local inflation can outrun the national average you typed.
Child wedding expense calculator
Parents often earmark a future wedding expense alongside education. Use today’s realistic budget, not a viral Instagram total. Inflating ₹25 lakh for 18 years at 7% yields about ₹84.50 lakh here. If gold is a large share, consider that gold prices may need their own assumption. This page plans for a child’s eventual wedding expenses as an adult—not underage marriage. Pair education and wedding folios separately so one goal date cannot quietly drain the other. When household opinions differ on risk for wedding fund under “Child wedding expense calculator”, fund the more conservative case first and treat any extra debit as optional top-ups.
Wedding fund calculator India
All inputs are Indian rupees: current wedding budget, years until the event, cost inflation and expected investment return. The sample path needs roughly ₹6,215 monthly with step-up toward a ₹84.50 lakh future cost. Rupee clarity matters when families compare venue quotes across cities. Revisit the budget when the child is a teenager and preferences become concrete. If relatives will contribute cash gifts, treat that as optional upside rather than reducing the SIP on day one. If the wedding fund instalment for “Wedding fund calculator India” looks unaffordable, cut the target or add years before you inflate the assumed return unrealistically.

Frequently asked questions
Does this promote child marriage?
No. It is a goal planner for a future wedding budget for a child who will marry as an adult.
What inflation rate fits weddings?
Many families use 6–8%. Gold-heavy budgets may need a separate higher assumption.
Should education and wedding share one SIP?
Better as separate folios with different target dates so one goal does not cannibalise the other.
Can I fund part of this with gold savings schemes?
Yes, but model those balances separately; this page assumes a mutual-fund-style SIP return you enter.
What if the wedding is sooner than 18 years?
Shorten the years input. Shorter runways need larger SIPs or a smaller guest list.
Are gifts and cash envelopes included?
Only if you put them in today’s budget. They are optional social costs—decide deliberately.
Is the future cost guaranteed?
No. Inflation and investment returns both vary. Recalculate every few years.
Can an advisor reuse these inputs?
Yes. Share the inputs and the result screenshot with an AMFI-registered distributor so they can map the maths to products without changing the formula.
